I got new glasses today - they look like this, only 'blonde' stype instead of 'tortoise' http://modo.com/pages/_Modo/02-Plastic/0201.htm. I really like 'em. Kinda NPR looking but very money too. I'm trying to practice Goodbye Yellow Brick Road on the piano right now, before my stroppy work friend takes his keyboard back and I am forced to buy a new one. I've got one I want though - my uncle in LA is a great classical pianist and told me of a nice type of Casio that sounds very piano-like. So that's next on the agenda - also making my first meal at my first home tonight - nothing special, just grilling some chicken with tobascoey salt and pepper and raw egg combo covering it all, and also sliced a head of garlic in half and that's being grilled too. But that'll get eaten tomorrow - tonight it's too late. I had my first swim at the local YMCA here in the new neighborhood and it was good, only had to share a lane with one, had a good solid workout and will go back again in two nights. I've been jonesing for American Beauty lately, I wish I owned it or that they had it on the Time Warner cable movies-on-demand. Anyway, I finished painting my kitchen and dining room (which will actually be used as my art studio) yellow. A nice fine butter yellow, with a bit of blush. Like a baby chick - like a nursery. But with stuff in there it just looks appetising - hopefully it'll make for good oil paintings to have so much yellow in the background - but it is a subtle warm yellow. If the dining room is ever liberated from being an art studio, it's a wonderful kitchen color. Speaking of which, let me check on my unholy concoction in the oven.
